In 1969 when Terrain Tamer started, in Melbourne Victoria, it did so with the simple idea of supplying parts to local 4WD operators.
With tours often occurring through the Australian outback, breakages and part failures were common. In these types of conditions, a quality part could be the difference between life and death.
Finding solutions to these problems was how Terrain Tamer was born, where our founder Frank Hutchinson then learns from these real life experiences. More challenges are presented to solve over time as these original issues become hurdles for mine operators, cattle stations and recreational drivers around the world.
The Terrain Tamer range now consists of over 40,000 unique parts, right through from the gearbox, transfer case, CV joints, filters, suspension, bearing kits, brake, clutch and many more parts that make up any vehicle.
Modifying and improving parts for 4WDs has become Terrain Tamer’s strength, and many of them can proudly be labelled as stronger than original equipment. The new Terrain Tamer Heavy Duty Bearings, Seals and Parabolic Leaf Springs are just a few of the most recent releases with exceptional results.
Terrain Tamer now has 16 branches worldwide, with their most recent opening in Cape Town last year in 2020, after celebrating 50 years in the industry at the end of 2019. With 5 decades of knowledge and expertise, you can be sure that Terrain Tamer provides Parts That Will Get You Home.
